Liquidity & Yield

Let Your STER Make Money For You

Providing liquidity is how you earn a share of trading fees on STER — instead of just holding it, your tokens are put to work every time someone swaps in or out of a pool you're part of.

This isn't a promise of income. Fee income depends entirely on trading volume and isn't guaranteed. Liquidity providers are also exposed to impermanent loss — a risk where the value of your deposited tokens can diverge from simply holding them, especially if STER's price moves significantly while your liquidity is deposited. Only provide liquidity with funds you're prepared to have exposed to these risks.

How liquidity provision works

When you deposit tokens into a liquidity pool on Raydium, you're supplying the reserves that traders swap against. Every time someone swaps SOL or USDC for STER (or the reverse), a small fee is charged on that trade. That fee gets distributed proportionally to everyone who has liquidity deposited in that pool — the more of the pool you own, the larger your share of every fee collected.

You deposit two tokens in equal value: STER on one side, and either SOL or USDC on the other, depending on which pool you choose. In return, you receive LP (liquidity provider) tokens representing your share of the pool — these can be redeemed at any time to withdraw your original tokens plus whatever fees have accumulated.

The deposit process

Depositing is done directly through Raydium, Solana's leading decentralized exchange. Connect your wallet, select the STER-USDC or SOL-STER pool, and enter your deposit amount — Raydium automatically calculates the matching amount needed on the other side. Optional locking via Streamflow

Once you hold LP tokens, you can optionally lock them using Streamflow for a fixed term. Locking doesn't change your fee-earning rate — it's a public signal of commitment, since a locked position can't be withdrawn until the term ends. Unlocked LP tokens can be redeemed at any time; locked ones cannot, even by you, until the unlock date arrives.

Frequently asked questions

Is providing liquidity the same as staking?
No. Staking (planned for Q4 2026) will involve depositing STER alone in exchange for rewards. Liquidity provision requires depositing two tokens in a pair and earns a share of trading fees rather than a fixed reward rate.
What is impermanent loss?
It's the difference in value between holding your tokens versus having them in a liquidity pool, which happens because the pool automatically rebalances your two tokens as the price ratio between them shifts. The larger the price move, the larger the potential divergence. It's called "impermanent" because it only becomes a realized loss if you withdraw while the price ratio is unfavorable.
Do I have to lock my LP tokens?
No — locking is entirely optional. You earn the same fee share whether your LP tokens are locked or not. Locking is purely a public commitment signal.
Can I add to an existing locked position?
No. Raydium liquidity positions require proportional deposits of both tokens, and Streamflow locks are tied to a specific token amount at creation. To add more, you'd deposit additional LP tokens and create a separate lock.
